A Summer in Seabrook

It’s the 1940s, and 17-year-old Allie is spending the summer with her wealthy family in Seabrook, a small seaside town. Here she meets Noah, who works at a lumberyard. Noah instantly falls in love with Allie, and gradually the love becomes mutual. However, Allie’s parents do not approve of her relationship: Noah earns too little and they want Allie to have a good future. After the two spend the summer together, Allie returns to New York and their paths diverge.

A Letter Every Day

Despite the breakup, Noah remains optimistic and writes a letter to Allie every day. Then the war breaks out, and Noah needs to go and serve. He stops writing and starts a new life. Allie meets Lon, who does suit her parents’ wishes, and becomes engaged to him. Until she sees a picture of Noah, who has returned from the front, in the newspaper and decides to look him up. Do they still have feelings for each other?
