Manhattan to Newark Airport transfer
A Manhattan to Newark Airport transfer by taxi can cost up to $100. I therefore advise you not to take a taxi to Newark Airport (EWR), instead go by shuttle bus or private car. When you book your airport transfer beforehand, you can enjoy your last day in New York stress-free.
Shared Small Shuttle Buses
The shared small shuttle buses will pick you up from your hotel or apartment and bring you to Newark Airport. Please note that most buses only pick up customers up to 125th Street. It will only cost $20 per person. It’ll take you at least 1.5 hours to travel to Newark Airport. The shuttle buses take longer than a taxi, as they need to pick up more people. After booking, read your voucher carefully for instructions on how to be picked up at the location and time of your choice.
Private Car or Limousine
In addition to the small shuttle buses, you can also be picked up by a town car or limousine. A town car is a small limousine for one to four people. If you’re travelling with a group of people to Newark Airport, this is a great alternative to a taxi or shuttle bus and most of the time cheaper too. Prices start at $22 per person to Newark Airport.
There is a train that connects Penn Station in Manhattan to Newark Airport. To get to your terminal you will need to transfer on to the AirTrain. Together the train journey to Newark and the AirTrain costs $13. Tickets just for the AirTrain costs $5.50. This is my least favourite way of travelling from Manhattan to Newark Airport because you have to transfer from one train to another, which is not great if you have a lot of baggage with you.
