Discovery Times Square

Discovery Times Square Museum

Discovery Times Square (DTS) is a big exhibition centre in New York, located in the heart of the city in the basement of the former New York Times Building. It is a combination of various temporary and immersive exhibits about culture, art, history and famous events.

Discovery Times Square is now National Geographic Encounter: Ocean Odyssey

Discovery Times Square

Discovery Times Square is one of the three exhibition centres located in Times Square, the other two being Madame Tussauds and Ripley’s Believe It or Not. Discovery Times Square opened in 2009 and has 5,500 sq. meters of exhibition space. They host especially large, travelling exhibitions, that might be too big, commercial or expensive to be profitable for local, smaller museums.

All exhibitions aim to be immersive and educative experiences. They try to connect the visitor with great cultural stories, normally including a lot of technical experiments and games. Some examples of the last popular exhibitions are Leonardo Da Vinci’s Workshop, Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition, The Art of the Brick (amazing Lego constructions!) or the exhibition about Harry Potter books and films.
