Elf the Musical is based on an American version of Christmas Story and tells about one of Santa’s elves, who helps Santa Claus with gift wrapping all the presents at the North Pole. This elf, Buddy, is actually an ordinary orphan boy who accidentally crawled into Santa’s bag and traveled back to the North Pole. Buddy starts his work unsuspectingly as an elf but as he is quite tall, he really stands out among his little colleagues. To make matters worse, he is not very good in wrapping presents either. The differences between him and the other elves get Buddy thinking about his origins and eventually Santa allows him to return back to New York. Once there, he starts a search for his father, and also makes sure that New York gets its Christmas magic back.
